2010 Ducati 1198 S Review

Surely worth every penny, the 2010 Ducati
1198 S is perhaps the best Ducati sportbike there is. It features a
liquid-cooled L-Twin engine that offers a resounding throttle
response at any engine speed yet deceivingly smooth from 4,000-rpm.
It's equipped with a dry multiplate clutch to give riders an
accurate feel of what riding a racing bike is all about.
With just the slightest pressure on the bars, the 2010 Ducati 1198
S cruises smoothly where you want it head, while keeping yet its
mid-corner stability reassuring. Its brakes are Brembo Monobloc
four-piston calipers on big 330-mm discs, meaning you can call up
all the braking you want using one finger. A quick look at this
Ducati motorbike and you can readily tell that it's the leanest
bike of the batch. And while its seat height is 32.3-inches, which
is similar to Honda's, 1998 S definitely feels taller.
More features to love are: Ohlins suspension, forged Marchesini
wheels (like the KTM), an aluminum gas tank, traction control; a
Race Kit consisting of a new ECU, slip-on Termignoni mufflers, and
a rear stand; and an eye-catching red/white/silver color theme. The
2010 Ducati 1198 S is priced at $21,795, and available in red and
midnight black.
