About Continental

Continental got its start in Hanover in 1871 selling rubber products, including tires for carriages and bicycles. At the beginning of the 20th century, it became the first company to create grooved tires for motorized vehicles, along with a flurry of other innovations. The Tires division of the company continues to put out durable, reliable goods from an established name. Continental motorcycle tires have been immortalized by racers such as Wilhelm Herz, who reached speeds of 300 miles per hour back in 1951.
